The Apex Gallery & Custom Framing – The Apex Gallery is a locally owned custom framing gallery also featuring local art, prints, and gifts. We love unique frames and finding the perfect frame for your fine art, prints, and items. The gallery features the works of local artists Bethany Bryant (pastel/painting), Karen Pearson (painting), and Jane Wolfgang (mixed media). The ArtsCenter -
 The ArtsCenter nourishes the arts, creativity, and community, through education, performance, and exhibitions.

FRANK – FRANK is a nonprofit, arts collective made up of both member and consigning artists from the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and Carrboro region. North Carolina Crafts Gallery -The North Carolina Crafts Gallery is an independently owned retail gallery that features a wide selection of pottery and gifts handcrafted exclusively by North Carolina artists and craftsmen.  Works include contemporary and traditional pottery, blown glass, wood turnings, jewelry, metalwork, toys, folk art, garden art, kaleidoscopes, baskets, and fiber art. 212 West Main Street, Carrboro, NC  27510. Website.

Womancraft – Two dozen or more artists manage and run the area’s oldest art cooperative, in existence for more than four decades. We feature pottery, woodwork, baskets, distinctive handmade clothing items, baby items, and home textiles, as well as all types of glass: fused, stained and kiln fired.  Womancraft offers gold and silver one-of-a-kind jewelry, and original 2D art by painters, fiber artists and photographers, many of whom also make greeting cards. Cary

Cary Gallery of Artists – The Cary Gallery of Artists is Cary’s oldest gallery, providing Cary with fine art and fine craft since its founding in 2005.   Participates in Cary’s Final Friday Art Loop with a reception from 6-9pm every last Friday of the month featuring a new show of member and/or guest artists. Town of Cary’s Exhibition Program – The Town of Cary recognizes that art exhibitions serve as a cultural resource, thereby enhancing the lives of our citizens.  The Exhibition Program provides exhibition opportunities for local, national and international artists.  The Town maintains gallery and exhibit spaces in Page Walker Arts and History Center, Jordan Hall Arts Center, Town Hall, Herb Young Community Center and Cary Senior Center. Chapel Hill

Ackland Museum Store – The Ackland Museum Store has a focused emphasis on merchandise that supports and reflects the Museum’s core mission to animate, inspire, and transform people’s lives with works of art. All proceeds from the store support the Ackland’s exhibition and education programs. Website.

Basement - Basement is a provisional artist-run project space that supports experimental and critical art practices. They choose to strengthen and build connections between artists and communities. Website.

Creative Metalsmiths – Has created unique custom designed jewelry and contemporary metalwork since 1978.  One of the only all-metals galleries in the southeast, the location provides a showcase for hand fabricated metalwork by Kim Maitland and additional artists both local and from across the United States.  117 E Franklin St

Ferns and Fancy Gallery —  Ferns and Fancy Gallery offers fine art and crafts in many mediums. It is located at 15 Woodside Trail, just a few miles south of the University in Chapel Hill. As you approach this gallery you’ll notice a site that that is nestled into nature, edged by boulders and ferns. When you enter you’ll find a variety of art works on display: variegated fibers in textiles that intrique, finely figured marbled silk hung in fancy frames and on decorative rods, fused glass with intriguing landscapes and geometric patterns. Clayton

Artmosphere Community Arts Center – Artmosphere Community Arts Center is housed in the historic Walter and Eliza Smith Moore House c. 1835 located in the Cleveland Community of Johnston County, NC. Artmosphere CAC offers art classes for adults and children, summer art camps, music lessons, a gallery exhibiting local artists, an event venue, and gardens. Artmosphere CAC's goal is to make connections with the community using the arts. There are 2 Outdoor Music and Arts Events offered annually as well as art receptions and fun activities year-round.  Website

5 Points Gallery - 5 Points Gallery is North Carolina’s premier fine arts gallery in the heart of Durham. 5 Points Gallery has been selected as the best art gallery in Durham two years in a row since our inaugural opening in August 2019. Our contemporary artists live and work locally, creating original works, including painting, fused glass, mixed media, sculpture and assemblage art. Claymakers Gallery – Claymakers Gallery specializes in contemporary studio pottery and ceramic art. With exhibits for invited artists, the Feature Gallery introduces the exceptionally diverse work of our region in shows that change every four to eight weeks. Craven Allen Gallery – Gallery featuring local North Carolina artists working in a variety of media: painting, pottery, photography and sculpture.  Opening receptions for new shows every two months.  1106 ½ Broad Street, Durham, NC 27705. Website.

Duke University Center for Documentary Studies – Duke University Center for Documentary Studies operates four galleries. The Juanita Kreps Gallery hosts three to four exhibitions annually; the changing exhibits reflect the work of documentary artists who have spent significant periods of time observing and recording diverse cultures in the United States and the world, The Lyndhurst Gallery present smaller exhibits in conversation with those in the Kreps Gallery. The Porch Gallery presents student and other work in a natural light setting. The University Gallery, located on the ground floor of the nearby Bridges Building, is a dedicated space for presenting the work of Documentary Studies students and faculty, and other documentarians associated with Duke University.

Durham Arts Council – The Durham Arts Council (DAC) offers exhibits in four on site galleries in its historic downtown Durham facility: the SunTrust Bank Gallery (maintained and managed by the Durham Art Guild), the Allenton Gallery, the Semans Gallery, and the Ella Fountain Pratt Legacy Gallery. SunTrust Bank Gallery –Located in the Durham Arts Council building in Durham, the Gallery is maintained and managed by the Durham Art Guild. The Gallery offers periodic exhibits of member and non-member works. 120 Morris Street,

Great Hall at Golden Belt Art  – The Great Hall located on Golden Belt’s urban arts campus, is committed to promoting the work of emerging local, regional and national contemporary artists. Margaret Lane Gallery – Margaret Lane Gallery is a family-owned and -operated art gallery offering work from over 25 local artists in a family-friendly environment. Paintings, photographs, reprints, collages and assemblages, sculptures, stained glass windows and suncatchers, carvings, fiber arts, note cards and other small items are selected to appeal to a range of interests and budgets. Liquidambar Gallery and Gifts – Liquidambar features a two-dimensional and a three-dimensional artist each month with an opening reception on the First Sunday of each month from 2-4pm. Pittsboro Gallery of Arts -  Recognized as a destination Art Gallery, it is located at 44-A Hillsborough St, just a few steps from the County Courthouse. Smelt Art Gallery – Smelt is not your conventional art gallery. The building used to be an aluminum smelting plant for Inco Alloys, manufacturer of parts for fighter jets. Many years later it housed the reactor building for Piedmont Biofuels. Raleigh

311 Gallery – Now a woman and minority-owned business, 311 Gallery is working to modernize it’s creative showcases by building on its 13 years of history. ArtSource Gallery – ArtSource Gallery is a fine art gallery and consulting firm serving businesses and private collectors in the selection, placement and purchase of fine art and framing. Block Gallery – Connecting local artists to community through ongoing exhibitions and public outreach, the Miriam Preston Block Art Gallery is managed by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Exhibitions are scheduled through a call for artists, juried by a selection panel of visual arts professionals, Raleigh Arts Commissioners and City staff.  222 West Hargett Street,  Raleigh, NC. Website.

City Market Artist Collective - CMAC was created and founded by sculptor Paris Alexander in 2020. Paris invited a select group of resident artist to fill this large open gallery space with a variety of works, including paintings, sculpture and mixed media works. Meredith College Galleries  – Meredith College is home to two primary gallery spaces, the newly-renovated Frankie G. Weems Gallery, located in the Gaddy-Hamrick Art Center, and the Rotunda Gallery, located in Johnson Hall, the College’s administration building. Nature Art Gallery at NC Museum of Natural Sciences – The main gallery showcases regional artists’ two and three-dimensional arts and crafts such as hand blown glass, North Carolina pottery, wildlife photography, lithographs and paintings. The secondary gallery features a single artist each month in a juried exhibition of their most recent work.
