Infinity Ballet Theatre and Conservatory – Infinity Ballet Conservatory is an instructional studio for students of Classical and Contemporary Dance. Cary

Cary Ballet Company – Cary Ballet Company is a non-profit youth organization that has been dancing for over 20 years in the Triangle area! The pre-professional company performs two major productions annually and are active in the community with the Plie All Day free ballet class program. Productions include the Nutcracker and Spring Works, a mixed repertoire show. They are the Resident Ballet Company at the Cary Arts Center.  Website

Footnotes Tap Ensemble:  Footnotes Tap Ensemble, a non-profit professional tap company, was founded by Robin Vail and Mimi Benjamin in 2002.  The Ensemble’s mission is to promote, educate and perform this truly unique American dance art through annual ensemble concerts, community concerts and tap workshops. Website.

North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE) –  NCYTE is a professional tap dance company that embraces a wide variety of percussive dance styles.  The ensemble offers performances from school shows and lecture/demonstrations to full two hour concerts.  Website.

Triangle Country Dancers: Triangle Country Dancers (TCD) is a nonprofit organization that promotes the enjoyment, preservation, and study of contra dancing and other English and American traditional and historic dance, music, and song. TCD is a group affiliate of the Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS). Website.

Triangle Youth Ballet: The Triangle Youth Ballet is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit ballet repertory company, as well as a school, training dancers from age 3 – adult.  Website.


Durham

African American Dance Ensemble, Inc. – The Ensemble is comprised of nine musicians and dancers under the leadership of Artistic Director, Chuck Davis.  Its mission is to preserve and share the finest traditions of African and African American dance and music through research, education and entertainment. With the motto, “Peace, love, respect for everybody,” the Ensemble celebrates traditional African culture, aesthetics and values as resources to encourage interracial cooperation, cross-cultural understanding and societal analysis. American Dance Festival – The American Dance Festival is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization committed to serving the needs of dance, dancers, choreographers, and professionals in dance-related fields since its founding in 1934. ShaLeigh Dance Works – ShaLeigh Dance Works, under the artistic leadership of ShaLeigh Comerford, is a multi-cultural dance theater company dedicated to creating socially conscious work. Collaboration, diversity and outreach are central to the company’s ethos and the multicultural and multidisciplinary troupe is comprised of dancers, actors, educators, writers, visual artists, martial artists, and dance makers. We create performances and community-based outreach programs grounded in social engagement, activism, and diversity. Our performances are accompanied by art exhibitions, lectures, and classes designed to deepen the thematic material of each work we produce.  We provide paid opportunities for the artists we serve as well as donation only movement opportunities for our community. Raleigh

Carolina Ballet:  We are a professional ballet company ranked one of the top 10 in the country.  Our mission is to provide world-class professional ballet to our local community, the state of North Carolina and beyond.  We accomplish this by attaining excellent dancers, commissioning new works and performing the classics. Website.

Code f.a.d. Company (where f.a.d. is an acronym for film—art—dance) – A multimedia dance company committed to combining film, visual art, and dance in live concert performances and in dance film projects. Artistic Director Autumn Mist Belk is a choreographer, dancer, filmmaker, and graphic designer and has previously shown her choreography and visual artwork in venues across the United States. The company performs in traditional concert settings and is also available for residences and performances in public and private schools. Website.

Raleigh Dance Theatre– Raleigh Dance Theatre provides performance training for young dancers while promoting and fostering the art of dance within the community. Membership is through audition and is open to dancers throughout the area. Raleigh Dance Theatre is an Honor Company of the prestigious Southeastern Regional Ballet Association. Website.

Triangle Swing Dance Society:  The Triangle Swing Dance Society (TSDS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting swing dancing to live music in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. Our events are attended by people from all ages and backgrounds who are always friendly and ready to dance! Everyone is welcome to visit and join our organization.  Website.

Triangle Vintage Dance: Triangle Vintage Dance (TVD) is dedicated to providing Vintage Dance events as well as Waltz events for the Triangle area. Vintage Dance refers to dancing of the 1860s to the 1930s, including country dances and quadrilles, as well as couples dance such as Victorian Waltz, Polka, Schottische, and Mazurka, as well as Ragtime One-Step, Foxtrot, Tango, Blues and Charleston.  919-932-6232.  Website.


Dance Support Organizations and Networks

North Carolina Dance Education Organization – NCDEO is the North Carolina State Affiliate for the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO). The mission of NCDEO, as a non-profit charitable organization, is to support and advance the art form of dance as an essential educational component of life-long learning. Our members teach in K-12, higher education, and private studios across the the state of NC. We hold an annual conference to promote scholarship, advocacy, teaching methodology, and performance in dance education. Website.

Triangle Dance Project – The mission of the Triangle Dance Project is to foster community by creating opportunities for people to experience and participate in dance throughout the Greater Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. We accomplish this mission through programs facilitating collaboration, creativity, performance and excellence in dance and the arts. We promote a functional network for communication by serving as a resource to dance artist-educators, dance students, dance businesses and dance audiences and enthusiasts throughout the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area.
