TEAL Lunch & Learn; Nonprofit Board Development

Do you work as an arts administrator or with a small arts  non-profit?

Don’t do it all alone!

Join the Triangle Emerging Arts Leaders (TEAL) as we learn about non-profit board development. Guest speaker, Karen Kalafatas, Interim Executive Director of SKJAJA Fund, will share tips and strategies for developing and maintaining a strong Board of Directors.

The group will then break-out into discussions with with local arts non-profit leaders to address common challenges, and brainstorm solutions!

Lunch provided. Suggested donation of $10.

Topics will include:

  • Board Development 101

  • Finding Board Members

  • Term Limits and Member Turnover

  • Must-have Board Roles

  • Diversifying your Board

  • Member Retention

Thanks to CIty Barbecue for providing lunch! (Attendees with dietary restrictions may want to bring their lunch)

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable everyone to engage fully. To request accommodation or for inquiries about accessibility, please contact ArtSwell@TriangleArtWorks.org or 919-244-4358. We will do our best to facilitate any requests made within two weeks of the event, but the earlier you can alert us to your access needs, the easier it will be to facilitate.

The cost to attend this event helps cover important programming expenses, such as compensating our workshop leaders and the administrative work that allows us to present these events. While we always strive to keep our fees low, we understand that they might be a barrier to some. If you are experiencing financial hardship and can’t afford the cost of an event, please let us know by filling out a reduced fee request.
