Summer Intern

Triangle ArtWorks is hiring an Intern for the summer of 2024 to be part of the Triangle ArtWorks team and be involved with all of our work to serve those working in the Triangle arts sector.  Generally, the intern will be an active part of the Triangle ArtWorks team and involved in the day to day work of the Organization. Specifically, the Intern will be responsible for continued research and development for the Artist Thrive Artist Resource Hub of online learning programming applicable to the work of artists and the arts administrators that support them. The NLD is one the national resources provided by  Artist Thrive and hosted by our partner, Tremaine Foundation

Term/hours - Three months in Summer of 2024 (dates based on students school calendar). Intern will be required to work 10/15 hours per week. 

Compensation: Intern will be paid a stipend of $300 a week equaling a total of $3,600, assuming 3 months of work. 

Location: Virtual position, with preference for candidates based in the Triangle region of North Carolina to allow for in-person meetings. This position will include in-person meetings with other staff and attendance at in-person events, as necessary. 

Who Should Apply: Undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in programs in arts administration or other art related fields. 

Description of program: Triangle ArtWorks is a nonprofit working to serve the Triangle arts community as a business sector. That means we work to create resources, tools, learning, events and more to help those working in the arts sector, both for profit and noprofit, to thrive as businesses. By creating a centerpoint for those working in the arts sector, we also increase the power and presence of this community as a business sector. 

The intern will involve working directly with Triangle Artworks staff to move the work of the organization forward, as well as supervised work to complete the specific task of research and development of the ArtIst Thrive Resource Hub.  Among other things, this internship will require, 

  • Research into available online learning content for artists to expand the Hub;

  • Work on one individual project decided upon in consultation with staff,

  • Participation in staff and other community meetings, 

  • Other tasks, as assigned,

  • Mentoring by Triangle staff on the work of an arts nonprofit. 

This internship will not include: travel expenses, laptop, or any reimbursements beyond stipend.
