Triangle Emerging Arts Leaders

TEAL lunch.

What is an Emerging Arts Leader?

Triangle ArtWorks, working with a Steering Committee of local arts leaders, coordinates the Triangle Emerging Arts Leaders (TEAL) – networking group of “young” arts administrators that meet periodically for discussion and networking, with a goal of not only helping the Group’s members learn from each other and some discussion leaders, but also to facilitate collaboration between them and their organizations.

TEAL is affiliated with the Emerging Arts Leaders Network at Americans for the Arts. Generally, and we mean REALLY generally, our group defines “emerging leaders” following the AFTA Network definition, as “arts professionals with less than 10 years of experience in the field, including current students, and professionals who may be coming into the field as a subsequent career.”  But TEAL is very open and welcomes anyone working in the arts that wants to join, regardless of age.

When do they meet?

Monthly lunches – TEAL has monthly lunch meeting on the last Friday of every month at Noon.  This lunch is casual and has no set agenda.  Join fellow emerging leaders and arts folks from around the Triangle to network and catch up on arts news.  Lunches are held at the Frontier in RTP and every Friday is Food Truck Friday, so you can get your food at the food trucks (come early to beat the lines!), bring your lunch, or just come for the conversation.

Social/Educational Events – They also have other events, which range from meet-ups at arts events to educational events.  Events are aimed at allowing members of this group to network, to meet “more established” arts leaders/mentors, to learn and to just have fun.

How can you participate?

Its simple.  Just send an email to Emerging Arts Leaders and you will be added to the mailing list.  This is also the address for any questions or suggestions you may have for the group.

You can also follow Triangle Emerging Arts Leaders on Facebook to keep up with events.
