Carolina Theater

Fletcher Hall –
1,032 seats. The stage house is 30 feet by 64 feet, with a proscenium opening of 31 feet, 8 inches. Its modern stage-level dressing rooms can host up to 54 performers.

The Common Ground Theatre

Facility:   Performance Rental and Rehearsal Rental. The 2300 square foot building includes 960 square feet of performance space, flexible seating for 55+, a lobby, box office, dressing room and ample parking. Has a flexible box design.

Performance Rental Rates 2011:  Mon, Tues, Wed – $100.00 per rental period; Thurs and Sun – $125.00 per rental period;  Fri and Sat – $150.00 per rental period; Monthly – Negotiable.  Rehearsal Rental Rates:            Mon – Thurs & Suns – $45.00 per day or $55.00 with lights; Fri and Sat – Negotiable;  Monthly – Negotiable .  There is a minimum weekly rental fee of $550 for theatrical runs that are longer than one week.  *Refundable security deposit of $250, reservation deposit (non-refundable, to be applied to rental balance): 50% of full rental fee.

Griffith Film Theater

Reynolds Theater

Emma Sheafer Laboratory Theater

Facility: Sheafer Theater is located on West Campus in the Bryan Center. It is a black box theater perfect for small-scale musicals and plays that demand intimacy between the actors and the audience. There are adjustable, portable seating platforms.
Capacity: Maximum 130 seats in flexible seating system.

Brody Theater

Baldwin Auditorium

Facility: The 890-seat auditorium is the site of musical performances ranging from jazz to chamber music.  Stage has a permanently mounted sound shell roof over the stage and reflector sections that line the back wall.

209 East Duke Theater

Facility:  209 East Duke is located in the East Duke Building on Campus Drive near the Main Street entrance to East Campus. It is a combination lecture room/studio theater with fixed seating (capacity 80) which is used for small scale productions. Capacity: 80 seats.

Page Auditorium –Facility: Adjacent to Duke Chapel, Page Auditorium is a 1,232 seat hall with an orchestra section and balcony.

Info: The Durham Armory is located on the corner of Foster and Morgan streets and is available for rentals for your community or private event.  With a capacity of 585 in the auditorium/ballroom and an additional 314 in the balcony, the Durham Armory offers a large indoor space with lots of flexibility. The amenities include a large commercial kitchen, heating and air conditioning, coatroom, snack bar, tables, chairs, 5-disc CD player and ample parking surrounding the facility.

Durham Performing Arts Center

Facility:  2700 Seats with the furthest seat only 135 feet away from the stage. Info:  “The space has been designed to provide artists with an alternative to traditional galleries by inviting them to create their own shows in an affordable gallery space. We are also offering the space to our community to rent for diverse uses: performance, art, dance, video, parties, classes, music performance and rehearsals.” For ongoing activities or singular events. The Nasher Museum of Art

Great Hall – 800 for receptions 250 seated. Available after the museum is closed to the public except on Thursday. Usually 6:30pm until 11pm, 11pm to 12pm is for clean up and 5:00pm to 6:30pm is for set up.
Information: Security fee is $150/ hr with up to 100 guests. The price increases $50 with each additional 100 guests up to 400 guests. Only specified catering service may be used. Audio visual equipment provided. Only museum staff allowed setting up audiovisual equipment at $35 an hour. More info can be found on the museum website.
