Welcome to our new Board members!

Triangle is thrilled to announce the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors, Jeannie Mellinger and Carl Nordgren.

Jeannie Mellinger brings a lot to the table for ArtWorks, including years of experience in diverse roles in arts administration, as well as considerable skills in the area of media and communications.  Jeannie is currently Director of Communications for the North Carolina Symphony and has been with the Symphony since 2000.  Previously, her career included work at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Kansas, the American Dance Festival in Durham, and the NC Museum of Art. Find out more about Jeannie here.  We are excited to learn from Jeannie’s experience in the arts in the Triangle and beyond, and looking forward to her guidance in furthering ArtWorks mission.

Carl Nordgren describes himself as a “an entrepreneur, a writer, a teacher, and a creative populist.”  His diverse background includes founding several successful start-ups, as well as writing a play that was presented on stage in Chicago. Currently, he is a sought-after speaker, teacher and adviser on the subject of Creative Populism, helping students, businesses and others be more creatively entrepreneurial.  To find out more about Creative Populism, you can review his website or follow him on twitter @creativepopulis.  We know our Organization will benefit from both Carl’s business acuity, as well as his understanding of the strong correlation between creativity, business and innovation.

Jeannie and Carl join our already strong Board of Directors, and will be working to develop the community, programs and resources that will further the Mission of Triangle ArtWorks.  As a new organization, there is a lot of work to be done, and we are glad to have them on board to help guide us.

Welcome Carl and Jeannie!
